DOE ITAC Implementation Grant Program

The U.S. Department of Energy, with ENERGYWERX, offers grants up to $300,000 for small and medium-sized manufacturing firms to implement energy efficiency recommendations from ITAC and CHP TAP assessments. This aims to enhance energy efficiency, productivity, and job creation in disadvantaged communities.

When To Apply

This grant program will operate on a rolling basis: applications may be submitted at any time throughout the year as funds are available and will be reviewed quarterly.

Grant Program Process

1. Receive a free qualified assessment:

Small to medium-sized manufacturers can receive an energy assessment from one of the qualified assessors:

        • An Industrial Training and Assessment Center. The complete list can be found
        • Onsite Energy TAPs
        • Third-party assessors have been qualified as ITAC-equivalent by DOE
2. Apply for grant funding:

Applications from manufacturers for implementation grant funding are simple and straightforward and only require:

        • General information about the applicant entity and facility of interest
        • An uploaded eligible energy assessment report, and a few paragraphs
        • Answering some basic questions about the project details

3. Get selected and receive funding:

DOE selects and works with manufacturer to finalize award size and sign award documents; after project implementation, manufacturer submits invoice(s) of incurred costs to DOE to receive grant funding
