Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool

Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool (CEJST) is a dynamic platform equipped with an interactive map and utilizes diverse datasets to gauge burdens across eight critical categories: climate change, energy, health, housing, legacy pollution, transportation, water and wastewater, and workforce development.

Designed to pinpoint communities grappling with a multitude of burdens, the CEJST is particularly focused on identifying those that are both overburdened and underserved. The tool is integral to the implementation of the Justice40 Initiative, an ambitious program seeking to ensure that 40% of the overall benefits from investments in climate, clean energy, and related sectors reach communities facing significant disadvantages. This innovative tool represents a critical step in advancing environmental justice and addressing the complex intersection of climate and economic disparities at the community level.
