Texas A&M Industrial Training and Assessment Center

Texas A&M University College of Engineering

For Students

Working at the Texas A&M ITAC

The students working for the ITAC at Texas A&M University are composed of paid undergraduate and graduate students in engineering. The ITAC looks for and employs top students to assess manufacturing plants and identify measures to save energy, reduce waste, enhance productivity, and reduce operating costs. Students work for the ITAC part-time and develop practical skills in thermal systems, electrical power systems, building envelopes, HVAC, combustion systems, and lighting. Unlike traditional engineering internships and co-op programs, the ITAC program exposes students to a much more comprehensive range of technical  experiences and challenges that help develop the practical skills needed in a future career while being paid.
